Holiday Playlist

It's about that time of year again...Exams are over/almost over, the weather is freezing, and the warm feeling of relaxation and bonding sets in.  That's right, it's almost Christmas.  Christmas, as an aging kid, has become bittersweet.  No more extravagant presents, it goes by way too fast, and shopping is miserable.  Yet it's the little things like cookies, movie marathons, and looking at lights that makes this time of year special.  With all this soppy shit said, Here's a list of songs that make me feel Holiday-y from the good times to Christmas to the weird in between week, and finally to the New Year.  In all of it's glory, Merry Christmas and HAPPY HOLIDAYS...MA'AM.  Click the Link Below if to get to the Youtube playlist, but I encourage you to put it on your iTunes or a CD:

Speaking of home, a "stay in for the day" classic

Dec. 4: "A Long December" by Counting Crows from Recovering the Satellites
Pretty self-explanatory from the guy with the weirdest dreads, ever

Dec. 5: "Christmas at the Zoo" by The Flaming Lips from Clouds Taste Metallic
Funny, catchy, and zany holiday tune from the eccentric Lips

Dec. 6: "A Life of Artic Sounds" by Modest Mouse from Building Nothing out of Something
Its not my playlist if I'm not shoving Modest Mouse down your throat.

Great song by the chili peppers.  This is such a good album that shows the band's maturity

Kid Cudi makes any song better

Dec. 13: "I Can Feel A Hot One" by Manchester Orchestra from Mean Everything to Nothing

Gibbard's melancholic voice reinvents this carol

Blue Ridge Mountainy gang with this wintry, folky jam

Christmas is over now so time for the party build-up

Dec. 19: "Together We'll Ring in the New Year" by Motion City Soundtrack from Commit This to Memory
This album and I Am the Movie shaped my teenage years

Dec. 20: "Every Man Has a Molly" by Say Anything from ...Is a Real Boy
Say Anything is just that: blunt and in your face
